For the Love of Nashville: A Beyond Just Biscuits Breakfast at Loveless Cafe
“You gotta try the biscuits.” The same short statement from a whole lot of strangers.
Now I am not a Southern girl, but with a breakfast like the one I had at the Loveless Cafe in Nashville, I actually feel disappointed that I am not a Tennessean by blood.

The biscuits are served warm and you better start tasting when the plate hits the table. Customers who are waiting for their order will eye you down and seem to question your company if you do not dig in. Okay, well no one actually gave us the stink eye, but everyone does seem to keep an eagle’s watch on every plate of biscuits coming around the corner, awaiting to start their day off with a little sunshine. Although your fingertips and mouth will enjoy creamy, yet oh so fluffy homemade goodness, these biscuits have a density unlike any other. I could have enjoyed plates and plates of biscuits alone with their made from scratch jellies and jams, but not to try a few other items on the Loveless menu would have been a shame.
Customer service here is downright southern hospitality at its finest. The people who work here are happy to continue the Loveless Cafe tradition, and personally I feel that their passion makes it a breakfast experience. Local Nashville ladies get your lad to take you on a lovers at Loveless Cafe date, and if you are traveling through Tennessee, then be sure to include this on your road trip itinerary. If you stop by on the weekend, be sure to get their early. From what I hear it can get pretty crowded, and rightly so.
Loveless is full of stories; more than sixty years worth of history. Just ask the staff about the restaurant’s moonshine tales, fried chicken phenomenon, Lonnie Loveless, and the legacy of the beloved “biscuit lady,” Carol Fay. You may even rub elbows with a country music star or two, and the occasional Hollywood elite like Ms. Gwyneth Paltrow.
Biscuits up! Enjoy the show!
