Samantha discusses “William and Kate: A Royal Love Story” by Christopher Anderson
I’m sure after reading the title of this we all can tell what I am talking about, and as corny as it may seem to start off with a love story I have to do it because I love this story and I am a romantic, fairytale believing kind of girl. This past week I read, “William and Kate: A Royal Love Story” by Christopher Anderson. This book is a biography of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s lives and relationship leading up to the engagement.
I took a personal interest in this book because I felt that they both seemed to be a normal/ordinary everyday person. Now I know that he is the Prince and future King of England and she is the daughter of millionaire parents but they both chose not to relish in those means, but to live their own lives. This helps me to further realize that we all can lead the lives we wish to choose. There may be some bumps and turns along the way but its how we choose to get through those
difficult parts that lead us to where we want to end up. I know for myself I do not wish to be living back at home with my parents and working mindless jobs, this is not what I want to do with my life. However, it is my choice to be able to plan and save during this difficult time for the next step in my life. And, isn’t it said that it’s the difficult life experiences that mold us into the person we become and the lives we live?
Now, it’s time to move on to the sappy and romantic aspect of the story. I am currently not in a relationship at the moment and to tell the truth I have found that I’m not very good when I am in a relationship. But, I find this to be okay because I don’t think any of us are perfect in a relationship until we find “the one.” And even then were still not perfect, but the other person accepts you for who you are (flaws and all) because they truly love you. Now I know most of us
grew up watching the Disney movies about the princess finding her prince or the prince falling in love with a commoner, ending with “happily ever after” and believed that was what love stories were all about and someday our prince charming would rescue us. I am well aware now, that it doesn’t happen exactly like that, we all can’t be Kate Middleton and actually meet and win the heart of a true prince but I believe that when you do fall in love, that man becomes your prince. He rescues you in his own way, by taking away some of your doubts and fears and replacing them with encouragement and love. I have true faith that if a woman leads her life in a fashion that she believes to be acceptable for her, in time, she will find a man that makes her life feel more complete and whole.
I have to say I am excited to see where this relationship goes now that they are married. I’m sure that even though they have lived together and Kate has experienced the realities of the Royal Family, it will be different now that she is actually a part of the Royal Family. I do hope they are able to make their modern fairytale last because I feel they are both good and genuine people. I look forward to sharing my thoughts with you again next week where I will be
reviewing ‘Water for Elephants.’
